🎙️ About the Speakers

Gordon J. Vernon

Gordon is a certified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter specializing in Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). Since 2009, he has provided communication access and virtual production support for clients worldwide — interpreting for icons such as Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Cher, and Madonna.

A lifelong music lover, he rediscovered his passion for singing through virtual karaoke during the pandemic and now builds online music communities that bring joy and connection.

Sonya "Nichole" Smith

Nicole is a certified virtual producer who has hosted and co-hosted many online karaoke events. A former special education teacher, children’s book author and illustrator, photographer, and lifelong music enthusiast, she brings creative energy and technical expertise. She currently plays mandolin, acoustic guitar, and mountain dulcimer — but her favorite instrument is her voice.
