2022 Watershed Planting with Living Arroyos
Living Arroyos is a partnership of the City of Livermore, City of Pleasanton, Livermore Area Parks and Recreation District (LARPD), and Zone 7 Water Agency. The program is a unique community engagement opportunity that renews and enhances urban stream and riparian (streamside) habitats in the Livermore-Amador Valley and re-establishes the connection between people and the arroyos in their own backyards.
The program area boundary is the city limits of Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore, and includes the unincorporated lands around the Chain of Lakes. We will be planting a mixture of native riparian trees, shrubs, and forbs to improve the habitat and water quality of local streams while maintaining and enhancing both public safety and regional flood protection.
By enhancing PMP connection to the Earth, the PMISFBAC Sustainability Program will open minds to the possibilities we can bring to our operational practices to limit negative consequences on the planet.
Participants will learn important watershed issues and contribute to the Heather Lane Project to directly conserve the watershed by tasks such as planting for native wildlife and the prevention of flooding.
This work will directly contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goal 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
Youth are allowed. Register them separately as a guest to ensure a spot and bring the completed waiver.
