Chinese Culture for Business Professionals

Power Skills

event---chinese-culture.jpg

Event Description:

China is by far America's largest trading partner and a key supplier of manufactured goods of all types. Yet, despite the enormous amount of international commerce, many Americans know very little about Chinese culture. Business people who have an awareness of foreign culture will communicate better, have more influence with cross-cultural teams, and enjoy better working relationships.

In this talk, we will focus on long term cultural influences and their impact on how Chinese partners behave and communicate. These include historical events, important leaders, both ancient and modern, the education system, relationships (guanxi), and communication style.

Who Should Attend:

Anyone with an interest in gaining an appreciation for Chinese culture and learning tools for communicating more effectively with cross-cultural teams.
