Event Description:

Having conversations of Race and Allyship is the first step in addressing antiracism and
discrimination in the workplace. Employees often don't know what to say, how to say it, or even where to begin these conversations. This program helps open the door to talk about race in a safe way for all employees.

The objective of this discussion is centered on 4 points:
1. Processing different perspectives around common phrases and perspectives used during
discussions about race that could unintentionally cause harm.

2. Understanding how trauma affects the way that we talk and listen to people who are experiencing it. (make no mistake, we are experiencing trauma all in our own ways.)
3. Teaching the definition of how "to ally" - an Ally is not something that one can simply be; it is something that one does.
4. Identification of steps that we can take as an Ally, and what to do when we mess up (because we all will and do).

Brooks E. Scott

"I’ve always been the one that people go to when they need to talk about how to handle difficult situations. Whether I was working as a VP in the private sector building diverse teams from scratch, the lead on high-level security teams, a state trooper, a 5th-grade teacher, or an executive coach, I realized that while I was good at what I was doing, everything I did had a singular focus: radical connection and communication."

Now, as a professionally trained and certified executive coach through CTI (Coaches Training Institute), Brooks specializes in Co-Active Coaching so you or your team can explore your fullest and most authentic potential through:

  • Active and deep listening
  • Authentic encouragement
  • Speaking honest truths
  • Asking the right questions

Brooks creates the kind of safe space that fast-tracks authentic conversations and radical connections in whatever kind of dynamic he's working with. That's his specialty, his gift, and why he chooses to be an executive coach.
