Introduction to MS. Azure DevOps Board

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

As more organizations adopt the scaled Agile methodology, knowledge of Azure DevOps Board Tool will become increasingly valuable. This interactive workshop will introduce you to Microsoft Azure DevOps Board, leaving them prepared to excel as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Release Train Engineer in future projects. Attendees will learn how to set up a project from the ground up and fully leverage ADO’s capabilities to maximize cross-team collaboration. This seminar will put PMI-SFBAC members ahead of the curve and give them a set of marketable skills to bolster their careers.

 

 

Objectives 

Attendees will gain a thorough understanding of Azure DevOps Board Tool as it is used to manage projects in Agile. They will feel confident in their ability to set up a project and manage work over the project's lifecycle. The interactive nature of the seminar will reveal that Azure DevOps Board can save time and energy, and facilitate cross-team collaboration.

What you will learn 
  • Create and configure an organization
  • Create and configure multiple projects
  • Set up multiple teams on different ARTs
  • Add epics, features, user stories, bugs, and tasks
  • Map out work items over multiple iterations
  • Effectively conduct Agile ceremonies
  • Calculate team velocity and incorporate it into iteration planning
  • Use the various visual interfaces like Boards, Backlogs and Sprints
  • Write Queries and use them to make Dashboards
  • Add extensions such as Dependency Tracker, Retrospectives, and Open in Excel

  • This is A full-day interactive training workshop, there will be no handouts. 
  • Each attendee is expected to bring a personal laptop

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Graham Riley is a Project Management Consultant for Pcubed. He joined Pcubed in early 2019 and was assigned to the Chevron team where he has served as a Project Management Analyst and fill-in scrum master on an enterprise-wide ERP implementation.

Graham graduated from the University of Michigan in 2018 with a degree in Economics. During college, he took up a keen interest in project management. He also loves to teach, a passion he traces back to his college days during which he held voluntary group tutoring sessions.
