La Grande Community Garden Project

Ways of Working
  1. La-Grande-Community-Garden-Project---Blue.png
Description:

The SFRPD Community Garden and Urban Agriculture Program supports and manages 42 (and growing!) Community Gardens located across the City where garden volunteers can grow produce and ornamental plants for personal use. We will be building community garden plots for disadvantaged families with the funds we raised in 2020. We will also add our muscle to other maintenance tasks at La Grande such as deconstructing old plots and invasive plant removal.

Participants will learn the first-hand impact of project tasks that give back by providing gardening opportunities and food security to disadvantaged families. They will directly contribute to the advancement of UN Sustainable Development Goals 2 - Zero Hunger, 10 - Reduced Inequalities, and 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities. This will be an excellent team-building event.By enhancing PMP connection to the Earth, the PMISFBAC Sustainability Program will open minds to the possibilities we can bring to our operational practices to limit negative consequences on the planet.

This event may be postponed/canceled due to dangerous weather conditions.
