Roundtables are informal gatherings of 10 to 15 Project Managers or people interested in the field for discussing current topics in the profession, gathering suggestions from the other attendees on current project challenges, or receiving information on items of interest. These meetings also provide members an additional way to participate and gain benefits from their membership. Roundtable meetings qualify for up to 1.5 Leadership PDUs under Category 3. Pre-registration is recommended for evidence of attendance. Please be advised that PMPs are required to provide evidence supporting their reported learning project. This may include a log of discussions with notes and dates. For this month’s meeting we invited Founder and CEO of ICAway, Kwan Segal to speak on job search strategies during the pandemic, focusing on hiring trends by business size, sector, and industry. Kwan Segal is an experienced human-capital consultant with over 15 years of professional experience at global organizations like BMW, Accenture, and Deloitte. Originally from Thailand, Kwan moved to the U.S. in 2014 and earned her Senior Professional HR certification from HRCI and joined Deloitte Consulting LLP as a Senior Consultant of Human Capital Consulting Practice based out of Chicago. With her human-capital knowledge and multicultural awareness, Kwan has designed a customized training program that equips international students with the skills for their career search, encourages them to break through cultural barriers, and prepares them to enter the U.S. professional world. As the Founder and CEO of ICAway /i-see-a-way/, Kwan is determined to build an empowering community for international students that lights the way for them to find jobs in the U.S. Kwan has served on the Committee for the NCDA International Student Services and Central Asian Productivity and Research Center (CAPRC) and been a speaker at national and international conferences including NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers), NCDA (National Career Development Association), SUNY CDO (State of NY Career Development Organization), WACE (The World Council and Assembly on Cooperative Education), NAFSA (Association of International Educators), IEI (International Educators of Illinois), WAIE (Wisconsin Association of International Educators), Ascend (PAN-ASIAN Leaders), and Prospanica (The Association of Hispanic Professionals). Kwan holds an Executive MBA through a Kellogg School of Management - Sasin School of Management's international education partnership program and certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources by HRCI. Kwan resides in Chicago. |
