Event Description: |
We are all familiar with the issue of plastic pollution, but do we understand how far the effects extend? Where are the deepest impacts from the supply chain? What are the solutions? We will watch the new documentary “The Story of Plastic” by Deia Schlosberg, winner of the 2020 John de Graaf Environmental Filmmking Award. After a short break, we will reconvene for a group discussion. The registration fee is a donation we are collecting for community service project materials. Deia Schlosberg |
Deia Schlosberg is an American documentary filmmaker and producer. Her background is in environmental education and visual arts, as well as expeditioning, having been awarded a 2009 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year award for a two-year, 7800-mile through-hike of the Andes Mountains. She produced Josh Fox's climate change film, “How to Let Go of the World” and “Love All the Things Climate Can't Change” (Sundance/HBO). “The Story of Plastic” is her directorial debut and was released on Earth Day 2020. |

Cancellation and No-Show Policy: If you have made a reservation and find that you will be unable to attend, please send an email to sustainabilitydirector@pmisfbac.org and cancel your ticket as early as possible. All cancellations are subject to a minimum fee of $20.00 if done within 3 days of the event. Cancellations after the event starts are subject to full charge to ensure the Chapter does not incur excessive expenses. However, you may assign your seat to another student who can attend for you. All refunds will be issued after two credit billing cyles. |
