Community Farm Day at Acta Non Verba Youth Farm

We'll participate in several Acta Non Verba Youth Farm projects that help lead the resource recovery industry to a greener future by pursuing advanced collection and processing technologies. Participants will be able to take a tour of the farm, and partake in gardening (e.g. weed, trim and harvest).

Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project (ANV) elevates life in Oakland and beyond by challenging oppressive dynamics and environments through urban farming. Founded and led mainly by women of color from the surrounding neighborhood and larger community, ANV creates a safe and creative outdoor space for children, youth, and families in East Oakland, CA. ANV engages and strengthens young people’s understanding of nutrition, food production, the natural world and healthy living as well as strengthens their ties to the community.

Participants will positively impact the "food desert" in the East Bay and see the practical application of the lessons we learned at PMI-SFBAC Sustainability Program's 4/20/2022 Food Apartheid webinar. Youth are welcome. Register each guest separately as we are limited on the number of participants.

Funding for new planting bed lumber has been covered by Sustainability Program fundraising. This event will directly contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals: 10 - Reduced Inequalities, 2 - Zero Hunger and 15 - Life on Land
