EVENT DESCRIPTION: Dare to Facilitate! 
Are deadly meetings sucking the life out of your project? There is a better way!
Great project meetings can be your superpower – attend this session to find out more:
  • Create project momentum with great meetings. Learn how to avoid the derailers that too often knock them off track.
  • Understand how productive meetings should work, including the framework for your role as leader, mentor, and facilitator.
  • Dare to facilitate! Learn to embrace your role as facilitator and build your team by taking charge.


Participants will learn practical tips to improve their facilitation skills. The session will enable participants to tackle and find new approaches to their toughest meeting issues.

Marie Spark is Lecturer and Program Director of the Graduate Project Management program at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She honed her expert facilitation skills through her extensive experience as a project manager, instructor, and non-profit board leader and has long had a passion for helping people to collaborate effectively.  She holds both a PMP and a Six Sigma Black Belt.  She entered academics following more than 15 years of project and quality management experience within technology, banking, and the nonprofit sector. Her passion for public speaking and running effective meetings originated in college as Toastmasters club president and CTM (Competent Toastmaster) and continued with her active involvement in the non-profit boards for the Alameda Food Bank, school PTA, and PMI San Francisco. Spark serves as an academic liaison between Golden Gate University and local PMI chapters, as well as leading the PMI San Francisco Breakfast roundtable. 

Cancellation and No-Show Policy:

If you have made a reservation and find that you will be unable to attend, please send an email to coo@pmisfbac.org and cancel your ticket as early as possible.  All cancellations are subject to a minimum $15.00 fee if done at least 5 days before the event.  Cancellations after Feb 15, 2018, are subject to a full charge to ensure the Chapter does not incur excessive expenses.
