Bayview Beautification Day 2024
Bayview Beautification Day
Refuse Refuse aims to motivate San Franciscans to take action to clean their streets, beautify their neighborhoods, and encourage others to join their cause. They organize their own events and cleanup opportunities, and partner with other local organizations with the ultimate goal of keeping San Francisco free of refuse. Refuse Refuse partners with the SF Public Works’ Adopt A Street program, which has served as the umbrella of community cleanups for over 20 years, allowing volunteers to borrow supplies and schedule debris pickups for group events like this one.
Participants will positively impact San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood by beautifying streets along one of their iconic parks and public playgrounds. By enhancing PMP connection to the Earth, the PMISFBAC Sustainability Program will open minds to the possibilities we can bring to our operational practices to limit negative consequences on the planet.
This activity will directly contribute to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals and strengthen our commitment to social responsibility and the environment.:
•11 Sustainable Cities and Communities
•17 Partnerships for the Goals
Without a sustainability mindset, there will be no world for projects to exist in. Our Sustainability Program offers opportunities to learn sustainable practices and aligns with the PMI 4.0 Strategy and PMI-SFBAC's strategic goals to extend our community and increase social impact. By enhancing our community's connection to the Earth, we will open our minds to the possibilities we can bring to our operational practices to limit negative consequences on the planet.
In addition, PMI is a member of the UN Global Compact and has committed to supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. You will find the Goals and Targets that each PMI-SFBAC Sustainability event supports at the bottom of the event description.
Bags, gloves, and pickers will be provided.
Attendees are recommended to bring any sunscreen, water, hats, or creature comforts they may need.
